Charter for the Committee

  1. End in Mind
    1. To keep a consistent and formal connection between the City of Panama and AmCham.  Especially in line with the City Vision and long term Planning.
    2. To provide feedback and non-monetary resources (participation, relationships, information, connections, references)
    3. To understand more in depth relevant incoming changes in the City and communicate them to AmCham members
    4. To integrate AmCham Committees with the City of Panama when appropriate (when a specific issue is within the focus of an existing Committee)
    5. To participate formally as Corporate Citizens in the sustainability of the City and promote AmCham values within the City (Democracy,  Interdependence,  Free Enterprise,  Free Trade,  Social Responsibility,  Ethics,  Transparency)

    1. Influence of AmCham into City Vision and Planning.  Better City vision and planning means better business environment (transportation, city services, support, intiatives) and more competitiveness for the City of Panama.  Better City planning means better quality of life, making Panama more competitive for attracting investment and talent

    1. For contribution with the City
      1. Positive participation (support and feedback instead of criticizing)
      2. Non-partisan perspective (the Committee will work with any political party in the City)
      3. Short (1 to 2 years), medium (3 to 5 years) and long term (6 to 30 years) perspective
      4. Environmental consciuousness, focus on people, business friedly environment
      5. Active involvement of other AmCham Committees when appropriate (voluntarily)
